Good News Week!

This week has been full of good news! Tuesday night we got a call from Nick & Ellen (Our brother and sister-in-law). They told us something VERY exciting! They will be having a baby in September and it is a GIRL! Yes, you heard that right! A King boy is actually having a little girl! It gives me hope that I can have one one day. We are so excited for them and can't wait to have a niece! 

Wednesday I found out that I will be teaching at my school again next year! Instead of teaching 5th grade I will be teaching 6th grade! Yes, that means I am moving up with this tough group of kids, but the great thing is I only have 1 student from my class right now and she is perfect, so I don't have much to worry about. I just have to be firm with this group from the start so they know that I am boss haha. I am really excited though! The 6th grade curriculum is so much fun!

Thursday I found out that I will be getting paid through the summer 

(Hallelujah!) Casey will be able to stay working part-time and will be 

able to come to the pool and hang out with me more this summer!

I am very excited. :) Also, it is almost May! We are so close to summer

I can almost taste it. I can't wait for testing to start. I still have a ton of

math to teach, so I will be teaching a lot of math for the next couple weeks, 

but I am ready to test them. The end is in sight. :) 

Weekend, it's here!, and craft night

Hey all! I hope your weekend was good! This is the post I tried to post last night and it decided to not work for some reason...Our weekend was good. I mostly enjoyed being able to sleep. I could have used more than 1 day of sleeping in though that's for sure! We also got to spend time with Casey's family this weekend. We had to say goodbye to Aaron, Crystal, & Grayson though since they are moving next weekend! Sad! :(

 I've said it once and will probably say it a million more times before it happens, but look at what a cute future daddy he is! His nephews sure love him to pieces! 

 My swimming suit is here! This is the one that I won from Eco Swim! I love it! So cute! :) Plus it's free...who can beat that right!?

 We had a craft night last night at work... here is my flip flop door hanger! I am going to wait a week and then it is going outside! :)

Summer letters... I am a firm believer that it must be summer now since I have the letters right? I wish. I really wish it was the weekend. I could really use another one. I have come down with a cold/allergies/something in between that is making me miserable. I know i'm such a complainer, but I need some recovery time here! Haha I deal with 10-11 year olds all day! Cut me some slack...plus I have total summer lust. I just want to sit in the pool all day and sleep whenever I want. Only 27 more school days! YAHOO!

Dear Blogger...

I just wrote a whole post on here and it is not showing up. I feel like crap. I am going to bed. Yes, I am angry with you. :)

I won!

Just as background, I seriously never win contests or anything. I just don't usually have that kind of luck. This week has been especially bad. My students have been so bad and I am exhausted. Today has started to look up though...first of all, I woke up to my husband having bought things for breakfast and to a Coke with a cute little note on it... he is such a romantic and I love it!

My kids were a lot better today than they were yesterday-I think yesterday was the worst day yet.

I got home from work today and checked one of the blogs I follow, Pretty Life Anonymous. I had entered to win a free swimming suit from Eco Swim with them. When I entered I really wasn't planning on winning, but I figured why not?! GUESS WHAT.....I WON!!!! I am totally excited!

This is the suit I think I am going to get. It's pretty plain, but I think it is totally cute. Plus it's FREE and they are usually like $100 or more!

Happy Birthday Mom (Connie)!

Today is Casey's momma's birthday! Happy Birthday Mom! We sure do love you!

Amy, Casey, Dad, and I all decorated her classroom in black (it's that birthday...;))...and of course I forgot my camera at home, so I don't have pictures of it. (This is another testament to the fact that I really need the Iphone so that I can just take pictures and post them from my phone). :)

I am very lucky to call Connie my mother-in-law. I really do have the best in laws and they raised the best son! He got so many good qualities from them both.

We all got her a swim bag with a new towel, swimsuit cover up, flip flops, and tanning lotion for our summer swimming excursions. I so can't wait to go swimming again!

We also went to their house and ate some sandwiches and birthday cake. It was fun to spoil her for a change since she is always spoiling all of us!

Happy Birthday Connie! We love you tons! :)

Ode to Spring Break

Oh Spring Break. It was so lovely. And so fast. And now it is gone. Here are some of the fun things that happened:

Monday:

• Lots of shopping! I went and spent my birthday money and then took the hubs out for his birthday shopping spree. We had loads of fun and he got some awesome clothes & shoes. :)

Tuesday:

• If you can believe it, a little more shopping. I finally bought my swimming suits for the summer. Yes, I had to get two this year so that I didn't completely trash one in one summer. I LOVE both of them!

Casey's suit is on the left & mine are the two on the right :) LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Wednesday:

• City Creek Mall with Connie & Amy. We took the Front Runner and Trax down so we didn't have to fight with parking. After riding the Front Runner twice to Salt Lake I have to say I much prefer driving my own car. It takes like twice as much time to get anywhere with all of the waiting.
• Also, I wasn't that impressed with the mall. It was pretty, but the majority of the stores were so expensive that there was no way I could even think of shopping in them. Nordstrom had shoes for $3,000. Who pays that kind of money for a pair of shoes!? Especially when they don't look that much different than the $25 ones I buy.

Thursday:

• LOGAN! :) Oh how I love that place. It is fun to go for a visit every once in a while. We headed up there for my A Pin ceremony (an award for getting a 4.0 two consecutive semesters with 15 credits or more).

• Casey snapped a few pictures of me in my cap and gown while we were up on campus. Wearing the cap & gown makes it all seem real. It's crazy how fast graduation really does come!

• We went to the temple. I love the Logan temple. We just so happened to go to a Spanish speaking session, so we got to wear the headphones so that we could understand the session. I have a new found appreciation for not having to wear those things!

• Dinner @ Texas Roadhouse. Yum. :)

Friday:

• I went to Orem to see Aaron, Crystal, & my cute little nephew Grayson. He is such a sweet baby. He is the kind of baby that makes you want a baby because he is so beyond perfect. It was fun to snuggle him and spend time with Aaron & Crystal. :)

Saturday:

• My day of resting. I made sure I had everything put together for teaching and basically laid around being lazy. I enjoyed it.

Sunday:

• Easter! It was a busy one too! We went to church and then headed to the hospital to see my old roommate Emily. She had brain surgery! Nuts right!? It was good to see her looking healthy and happy.
• Dinner @ the Kings. Casey & I were the only ones who were there for dinner, so we enjoyed a tasty meal with Mom & Dad. Then Aaron & Crystal came up so we played a game and I snuggled with the baby again. :) I basically take any snuggle time I can with him!

Spring Break was great. It gave me a taste of what it would be like to have summer break again. I am so ready for summer & swimming. Only 7 1/2 weeks until school gets out. It really isn't that long considering that the kids test in 4 weeks...then we only have a few weeks of school after testing is over. It will be summer before we know it!

Casey is almost finished with school (lucky duck!). He is happy to be done and has done pretty well this semester. I am proud of him. I don't talk about him often enough on the blog. I feel kind of selfish. I sure do love him though. :)

Looking for some ideas...

Hey friends! I just recently finished the Book of Mormon again and I want to study it differently the next time around. What are some things you do while studying the scriptures?

Weekend

This weekend was a fun one filled with family! Here are some things that we did:

• Friday :

-Left work at 2:30 since I had done SEP conferences all week

-Spring Break officially began! Yahoo! Having a Spring Break is one of the

many reasons why I love being a teacher. We really do have fabulous hours,

etc. We only work like 9 months out the year. You can't really beat that!

• Saturday:

-I watched the morning and afternoon sessions of General Conference. Loved all of it! President Packer's talk was probably my favorite.

-While my hot hubby went to Priesthood session with his dad I went

to get pedicures with my mother in law Connie, sister in law Amy,

and nephew Peyton.

-Connie had never had a pedicure in her life. Amy & I just had to introduce her to it. She loved it. :)

• Sunday

-I went over to my in-laws to watch Conference with the fam. Casey had to work unfortunately. I really don't love the fact that he has to work every other Sunday. Not fun.

-We got to see Aaron, Crystal, and Grayson too! It is crazy how big Grayson is getting! He is such a cute baby. I get to go babysit him on Friday. So excited! :)

-Peyton & I took Casey some lunch in between sessions and Casey let Peyton practice his golf swing with him. (Casey has a putter and golf balls at work).

I'm pretty sure Casey wins the best Uncle award. All of his nephews LOVE him to pieces. I basically picked the most fabulous man to marry because he is going to be the most adorable daddy on the planet. I chose well. :)

• Monday:

-I know it is Monday today and it doesn't really count as the weekend, but I bought some cute

things today that I just had to show off !

Hello cute spring/summer outfit that I can totally wear to work. LOVE.

Cute pair of jean capris that I can wear to work too! I got these and the outfit above for $70 at NY & Company (my favorite store for teacher clothes). They were doing a buy 1 get 1 50% off sale, plus I had a promo code for $50 off of a purchase of $90 or more. I LOVE deals! And the best part? I didn't pay for any of it! Gift card/birthday money covered all of it. It's times like these I really like the fact that I don't buy things on a whim!

This skirt you can't really see, but it is a really pretty black lace skirt. Downeast=$7.99... Can't really beat that. Also didn't pay for this. Thanks Dad & Shye for the birthday money! :)

-Tonight I am taking Casey shopping for his birthday. I am so excited to get him a good wardrobe. He is in desperate need of some new clothes. I love shopping. Especially for my cute hubby!

-I am also still trying to find a swimming suit. I can't find any that fit me right. It's pretty frustrating. Oh well... it will happen soon enough hopefully !
