Heavenly Father's Love

These past two days I have been overwhelmed with how amazing my Father in Heaven's love is for each of his children. Since becoming a teacher and having my own classroom, I have prayed a lot to feel of his love for my students and to be able to love them as he does. I have many students who push my buttons and try to see how much they can get away with, but I have one in particular that I have really been focused on. This particular student used to be able to make me angry and frustrated in no time at all. I kept praying to feel of Heavenly Father's love for this child, and today I woke up completely overwhelmed at how much I really do care for and love this specific child in my classroom. I know it wasn't me developing these feelings, it was a loving Father in Heaven allowing me to see a small glimpse of how he feels for this specific child.
Teaching is such an overwhelming, exhausting, heartbreaking experience, but it is also the most rewarding and amazing profession out there in my opinion. I am just thankful for my Heavenly Father and his tender mercies in my life and for him blessing me with the opportunity to make a difference in children's lives. :)

I just have to laugh...

Can someone please tell me how anyone would think that this baby is my baby? Have you ever seen a woman who has just given birth standing up with a nice outfit and her hair and makeup done? I have had a few people tell me congratulations on the baby. It just makes me laugh haha. Also, wouldn't I have posted something on my blog/Facebook if I was having a baby? Even though he is adorable and I love him to pieces, that's my nephew...not my son. :)

L-O-V-E

I know this is late, but I just wanted to do a quick V-Day post. Casey spent Valentine's Day at school and I spent it at work (school) with my kids. It was a pretty good day. The kids were really well behaved that day and we had a fun Valentine's Day party. Part of the fun of being a teacher is that you get to have fun with all of the holidays and things.
Casey & I have never been big Valentine's Day buffs...we don't really buy each other gifts or go out or anything. This year we ordered a Chicken Alfredo Pizza from Pizza Hut and watched Gossip Girl. It was perfect for us. :)
I have seen a lot of people sharing their love stories, so I figured that I would share ours too! This is the shortened version:
It all started in 5th grade at Tendoy Elementary. Okay, we weren't really in love back then, but that is where I first saw Casey. I loved all of his friends and dated guys that he played basketball with haha. One weekend I was in Boise for a basketball tournament for his team the Terps. I saw him there and thought he was cute, but still didn't talk to him.
We had a class together at Century, but still didn't talk. After our freshman year in high school he moved to Kaysville.
Finally, the June before my junior year in college I found him on Facebook and we started talking. We talked on the phone and eventually he asked me on a date. We met in Ogden and went up in the mountains and made a fire. A cranky old lady got angry at us and I ended up paying for the campground haha. After a great night I headed back to Logan totally twitterpated with Casey. We always joke about who fell in love with who first. (I think it was him ;)).
A week later he asked me to be his girlfriend, we dated for 9 1/2 months, were engaged for 2 1/2 months, and were married a week after our 1 year dating anniversary. Now here we are 1 1/2 years into marriage and more in love than ever. :) I love you Casey! I couldn't have picked anyone better than you!
I was going to put more pictures up, but blogger has been fighting me for a few days. I give up. :(

Unexpected blessings...

It is true that things happen when you least expect them to. I was finally okay with the fact that I wasn't going to be getting a job until next school year. I was up eating breakfast on Friday getting ready to go to a sub job when I got a phone call. It was from the principal at West Point Elementary School. She said that they had a teaching position that needed to be filled immediately and that they wanted me to fill it. I will be honest-I was in shock! It's been a whirlwind ever since. I am now a 5th grade teacher! I didn't sleep more than 4 hours on Saturday and ended up getting a cold, so I am sick, exhausted, and excited all at once. It is definitely an experience going in to a classroom that used to be someone else's and taking over. I am still working on getting the class to respect me and learn my procedures. That is definitely the hardest part. I can teach lessons all day long...but ask me to get kids to respect me when they had another teacher 5 days ago...now that's a challenge! Heavenly Father sure knows how to test me and stretch me beyond my wildest dreams. Although it is scary and completely different than I imagined it being I am very thankful that I have been given this opportunity. On the bright side, next year will feel like a cake walk compared to this! :)

The Circle of Life

We are watching The Lion King and I couldn't help but think of this Modern Family moment.... Click Here :) We LOVE Modern Family. It is HILARIOUS. Cam & Mitchell are definitely some of my favorites. Enjoy! :)

Feeling the need for a new suit...:)

As most of you know, I spend most of my summer at the pool with my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and nephew. Last summer I bought a new swimming suit from Lime Ricki. Zebra. Totally cute. Love it. There's only one problem. It is already stretched out and ruined and beginning to be see through. Quite sad really. I have some left over birthday/Christmas money, so I think I will be buying myself a new suit this year (again). I am thinking that Downeast is the way to go. These are some of my favorites:
