"This potato is as hard as a rock!"
Well, we experienced a first in our marriage last night. We epically failed at dinner. Usually everything goes great, but last night we attempted to make something that we never have before. Word to the wise...don't ever cook something you never have before on a Sunday! We decided we would try to cook steak and baked potatoes. Our first mistake was that we forgot to get charcoal for our barbecue, so we ended up having to cook the steaks on the stove...that made them extremely dry with basically no flavor. :( Then it was my first time ever making baked potatoes ( I know you are probably thinking "seriously!?", but it's true.) I followed all of the directions and everything, but then they came out of the oven and they were still rock hard. The one thing that went right was the canned green beans because well you have to try pretty hard to botch a can of green beans!
We had a good laugh over that meal haha. It was fun to completely ruin a meal together :)
P.S. Sorry i'm doing Valentines a little early, but I was sick of the blue background! :)

QUESTION...
Does anyone know why my blog won't let me put spaces in between things? It does it when I am composing, and then it all squishes together. Any ideas?
Currents
So I saw this on Elizabeth Lawlor's blog and I liked it, so I figured I would do it every once in a while. Maybe it will get me to blog more often :) I tweaked a few things to better fit me, but ya! Feel free to do this too :)
Listening: I actually haven't listened to a lot of music lately. Kinda weird. But when I do I have been listening to more Country music in the car :)
Reading: The Lost Hero. The first book in the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan. Yes, it's a little kid book, but I still love it! And of course...TEXTBOOKS.
Eating: Sandwiches. Too many for my liking. That's what happens when you have to pack a lunch :(
Drinking: COKE & Water :) Lots of both...they balance out right? ;)
Wearing: SKINNY JEANS! Oh they are like my favorite. It's a miracle. A pair of pants that fit my non-existent behind. Thanks Mom & Sis for buying them for me :)
Feeling: Tired. A lot. But happy & accomplished too.
Weather: FREEZING. It's January in Logan. WORST month of the year here.
Need: More sleep. Less time wasting.
Thinking: I want to go read my book.
Enjoying: Being able to relax and putting off homework til tomorrow :)
Wondering: If I will spend my whole day tomorrow doing homework. (PROBABLY)
Quick Update
We are back in school and work now after our fun Cali trip. I just finished my second week of level 3 and let's just say it's a BIT intense. The homework is never ending and the classes are 3 HOURS long, but i'm actually really enjoying myself! It's great to be at a point where I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and where I can start to apply all of the great things that I am learning in school. Casey is still working hard at Qwest and being a sweet, supportive husband to me. I am so grateful that he is willing to go work and take care of our family so that I can finish school and be able to get him through school. It's just great having a husband who puts me before himself. He is totally FABULOUS and i'm the luckiest girl alive!
My birthday was Monday, the 17th, so I am officially 22 now! I kinda feel like an old fogie not gonna lie haha. We went to Pocatello last weekend and I got pedicures with my mom and sisters, we went to dinner with Aubri, Brando, Mom, & Wayne, and I had a joint dinner with Brando for our birthdays. It was a great weekend for sure :) I got some more skinny jeans & earrings from Aubri & Brando, a WAY cute outfit from my mom that I can wear to practicum and when I teach with some earrings, Casey got me GREYS season 6 :) if you know me at all you know i'm obsessed with it, so it was a good buy! My grandma also gave me money so that I could go and get my dream jeans (Rock Revivals @ Buckle). I have yet to find the right pair, but I know they are out there somewhere hahaha. And last, but certainly not least, my dad & shye sent me a gift card for some restaurants and some money to spend and here is the BIG news!!!! DARLA IS PAID OFF!! YAHOO!!! So they are sending me the title and she will OFFICIALLY be mine for real! I am kinda depressed because I LOVE my Arizona plates, so putting Utah plates on my car is totally gonna be a downer moment for me, but I made a compromise with Casey. I told him as long as I get the Aggie plates I guess I will be okay. Haha I know it's totally ridiculous to be all worked up about my Arizona plates, but my heart really is in Arizona. :)
THIS IS DARLA :)
I should find out which school I am doing my practicum at in the next few weeks, so I'm excited for that! I just love school. :)

Cali :)
We just got back from California on Thursday night. We left on New Years day early in the morning and headed to Valencia, CA (a suburb of L.A.). It only took about 12 hours, so the drive really wasn't that bad. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency and it was a really nice hotel.
Casey passed out after the long trip!
We were planning on going to Six Flags in Valencia, but it SNOWED the day we were going to go! It's kinda crazy when you go on vacation to get away from the snow and it decides to snow while you are there! The people in Cali were really funny about the snow though. It wasn't even very cold and it was only kinda slushy outside, but they all had winter coats on and were talking about how they had to go warm up their cars because it was so cold outside. It made me laugh because here in Utah it is so much colder!
The snow in Valencia!
Luckily we had my father in law's GPS with us because there are SO many different freeways and stuff in Cali. It would be so easy to get lost. We tried to navigate through downtown Los Angeles and that was a nightmare! We ended up in the pretty run down part of L.A. and then ended up in Chinatown...Casey said that Chinatown was as big as China. It felt like it lasted forever! We stopped for gas there and there was a lady in a full on snow suit... it was hilarious because it was seriously like 60 degrees outside and she was in a snow suit. We had a lot of laughs in Valencia because of the people and their response to the weather.
We headed to San Diego on Tuesday and stopped in Huntington Beach on the way. It was beautiful! The water was beautiful and there were people surfing and fishing. It was like 65 degrees and it was amazing! I was loving being able to walk around without a jacket on. I told Casey that's where I want to live when we get old. All of these people were out jogging and walking their dogs and it was the beginning of January! It was a beautiful sight to me... I really don't enjoy being cold, so I would love to live in a warm place!
Me on the Pier at Hunintgton Beach :)
Casey at Huntington Beach :)
Pretty water :)
We stayed in a hotel right by Sea World when we were in San Diego. It was a pretty small room, but we dealt with it just fine. We were expecting it to be a little bit nicer than it was and we got to fall asleep one night to the people upstairs having some fun. Haha. It was in the 60's the whole time we were there and I loved it. We also had the chance to go to the San Diego Temple while we were there, and that was by far my favorite part of the trip. I remember loving that temple as a little girl because it looked like a palace. It was great to be able to go there. It is GORGEOUS! Casey made a joke saying that the temple is just like California, you have to have a GPS to get around. Haha it's true! It was so huge and I felt like I was lost the entire time, but it was really beautiful. It was so different than going to a temple in Utah because we had a missionary get his endowments out in our session, and there were still only like 20 people total in the room. Kinda crazy because i'm used to the whole room being pretty much full! Overall we just relaxed the majority of the time we were on vacation, but it was great. I fell even more in love with my husband :) it is going to be weird when I go back to school and he goes back to work because we had a full week together.

Some pretty pictures of the temple. It is so huge it was impossible to take a picture of the whole thing, so I took a few different ones :)
I am getting ready to start my LAST semester of college! It is so crazy! I will student teach in the fall, but I won't be taking classes, so this is it for Utah State! It is so surreal and kind of sad. I have loved college and i'm kinda sad it's time to grow up and get a real job soon! I have actually been considering getting my masters degree after teaching for a year or so cause I just LOVE school. So I will more than likely be getting my masters degree! I will probably get it from Utah State too because I have just loved it and they have the best programs for Education degrees! It's so crazy to be almost done with my bachelors already though. Casey has decided to take this semester off and focus on work because he will begin going to the DATC in April for EMT and Firefighting. Things are going great for us and we are loving life! SO excited to start school again :)

Done for the Semester... A Quick Update
We are officially done with the semester! I now only have 2 semesters left of school and that includes student teaching! It's kind of crazy how quickly college has gone by. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was a freshman thinking school would never end, but I am looking forward to graduating and becoming a teacher. I got a 4.0 this semester :) it's my first 4.0 in college... it's amazing what happens when you don't have to take math! I start Level 3 in the spring, so I will be learning all about how to teach different subjects, and I will be writing TONS of lesson plans and spending anywhere from 3-6 hours a day in classes...it will be pretty intense, but I am excited to continue learning. Casey is going to continue taking generals next semester until we move to Kaysville and he can start his firefighting/EMT schooling. We are heading to Kaysville for Christmas and then will be going to Pocatello to spend Christmas there as well, so we are going to be traveling a lot, but we are looking forward to spending time with family :)
We are going to California the first week in January! I can't wait :) We were going to go on a cruise, but those things are kinda expensive! We figured we would have more fun going to Cali and shopping, etc. We are going to go to Six Flags, which I can't wait for because I LOVE roller coasters! We are also planning on going to the San Diego temple while we are down there because I have always wanted to go in it since I was a little girl (It always reminded me of a castle).
Not a whole lot is new with us though.. Casey is still working at Qwest and i'm still being a full time student. We have almost been married 6 months though, which is totally crazy to me. Time sure does fly!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! :)
