I'M SO EXCITED!

Our newest nephew is on his way! Oh my I am so excited I can hardly stand it! (Of course he had to wait until a day or two after my birthday...why listen to Aunt Ashley right!?) OH well! I love him anways :) Can't wait to see the little guy!

Happy Birthday to me! :)

I turned 23 yesterday. Kinda crazy. I looked at my post from last year and I said I felt like an old fogie then...now I really do haha. My birthday was great though :) I didn't sub and Casey surprised me and pampered me all day long. Some of the highlights were:
  • Casey got doughnuts & chocolate milk for breakfast. Yum :)
  • I went to get frozen yogurt with my mother in law and I got my swimming pass for this year for my birthday! YAHOO!
  • Casey & I went to Chick Fil A for lunch
  • We had Crock Pot Chicken for dinner
  • Casey brought me flowers and bought me a tanning pass :)
  • Last, but not least....We had a couples massage today! It was fabulous. My body hurts now though haha. The girl at the front managed to talk us in to becoming members and getting massages once a month. Are we high maintenance? Probably. :) But it will be nice to have those throughout the year.

I was spoiled rotten for my birthday and I haven't even been to Pocatello yet! We are heading up there this weekend, so I get to celebrate my birthday again! :) Birthdays are fun sometimes. I'm thankful for my cute husband who put such an effort in to making my birthday so great! I love you babe! :)

Good News!

I got a long-term sub job from April 30 til the end of the school year! I will be teaching 3rd grade for a teacher that is going on maternity leave! One of the principals that interviewed me gave the teacher my name, so that's good that she recommended me! I will be testing the kids and covering things for the end of the year. The teacher is going to leave me an outline and I will get to plan some things too. That's still 3 months away though, so I will just keep subbing while I can! I have subbed 3 of the 4 days that I could this week, and I may even end up subbing Thursday. It's still a challenge, but I am learning!

In a funk...

I don't know what has gotten into me lately, but I am just in a funk these days. I miss school. How weird is that!? Who graduates from school and actually misses it? Oh, that's me! Heavenly Father is a smart man and he makes sure that things don't always work out how I would like them to so that I can learn something, so I am subbing and trying to stay positive. It will all be worth it the day that I get a job that I am totally excited for and can't wait to start. :) Plus, the paychecks will really be worth it. I just have this thirst for learning and for pushing myself, but it seems like I only do that educationally, so I think I just need to find some other ways to be happy and learn. Some ideas I have come up with are:
  • I have to take the PLT sometime within my first 3 years of teaching, so I could start studying for that and take it before I ever get a job so that I don't have to worry about that later.
  • Get First Aid & CPR certified. I have always wanted to do this, and it would be a beneficial skill to have in a classroom just in case.
  • Volunteer at Primary Children's. I love kids and I have a degree that deals with kids, and I have always wanted to volunteer at Primary Children's.
  • Learn to sew enough that I don't have to have my mom/grandma/sister holding my hand the whole way through a project. I don't need to be professional by any means, but some basic sewing skills would be nice!
  • Be more crafty. I love decorations in my house for the holidays and there are a few holidays that I really need some cute decorations for.

What things do you do to keep yourself from getting in a funk? Any ideas would be appreciated! :)
